As a seasoned trainer with over 40 years of experience, I’ve learned that your dog is only as good as your commitment to training and handling. A Lifetime of Experience
My journey as a handler, instructor, and trainer has taken me to the far corners of the globe. From Drug and Explosive Detection to Accelerant and Mine Detection, my dogs and I have served in challenging terrains across Kosovo, Bosnia, and Croatia. My work has also brought me to South America, North America, and Europe, each mission showcasing the incredible capabilities of these remarkable animals.
At the heart of a Detection Dog’s success lies a simple yet powerful motivation: the love of a toy. Training hinges on the association between the toy, the odor, and the reward. This connection becomes the foundation of their reliability. For private companies conducting searches, it’s vital that dogs indicate not only the presence of an odor but also precisely where the substance is located. To maintain this high standard, independent testing should be performed every six months to a year, coupled with detailed daily work records.
